Episode 17: Black Moms in the Movement Part 2

Guest Momologist: Dr. Keonna Roberts , Ed. D. is a native of Fort Worth, wife, mother and an elementary teacher for the past ten years. She has worked in education in order to provide students with meaningful content knowledge that they can apply in their everyday lives.
Keonna chose to pursue higher education at a (HBCU) Historically Black College & University in Texas. Keonna earned her Bachelors of Business Management from Prairie View A&M University and her Masters degree in Early Childhood Education from Texas Southern University. She recently obtained her Doctorate degree in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, Texas. As a young lady growing up on the East side of Fort Worth, she always demonstrated a passion for helping others no matter what age. She still continues to improve upon this throughout her career as an educator with her students and in her personal life with her own children. In 2011, Keonna was awarded Teacher of the Year in Fort Worth Independent School District at Eastern Hills Elementary School in Fort Worth, Texas. In 2016, Keonna was awarded Teacher of the Year in Birdville Independent School District at John D. Spicer Elementary School in Haltom City, Texas. In 2017, she received the honor of Region 11 (Tarrant County) Educator of the Year for the Association of Texas Professional Educators (ATPE) for her service to the staff, students and community of Tarrant County. Keonna is currently employed as an educator at Janet Brockett Elementary School in Mansfield Independent School District. In addition to her years of service in education, Keonna has served in professional educational organizations including Jack & Jill, Inc. of Fort Worth Chapter, a member of the Fort Worth Alliance of Black School Educators (Local & State member), Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education, and a Lifetime member of the Prairie View A&M University National Alumni Association. Keonna is the youngest daughter of J.W. and Aquanita Robinson, the wife of her soul mate Albert, and the proud mother of Albert III and Karrington.
Momologist of the Week: Eboni DuBose. This Cobb County (Atlanta, GA) Mocha Mom Chapter Co-President is a wife and mom to 3 girls. Her goal is to create value-added learning solutions that helps employees perform their jobs better in order to meet business goals. Eboni has done an amazing job transitioning her professional skills into her local Mocha Mom Chapter to grow chapter and its community service efforts.
